Havuja Solutions has joined Photonics Finland, the national photonics technology cluster.

Photonics Finland is the single point of contact for the Finnish photonics ecosystem. Its roots go back to the Finnish Optics Society, founded in 1996, and it was relaunched as a technology cluster in 2014. Today it brings together more than 130 member organizations, from startups and SMEs to large enterprises, universities and research institutes, and over 250 individual members. The cluster connects companies, researchers, students and public authorities, promotes collaboration between industry and academia, and coordinates Finnish participation in national and European projects.

Finland punches well above its weight in photonics. More than 340 photonics companies operate in the country, with combined annual revenue of over €2.5 billion and a strong export focus on Europe, the US and Asia. Finnish strengths span optical sensing and imaging, micro- and nanophotonics, lasers and fiber optics, and extended reality (AR, VR and MR), the same fields where Havuja’s team has spent decades building test and metrology systems.

For Havuja, membership is a natural fit. Many of the companies in the cluster are moving new optical devices from the lab toward volume production, and that transition is where testing becomes the bottleneck. We look forward to contributing to the ecosystem, working with fellow members and research partners, and helping Finnish and European photonics companies scale with production-grade test and metrology.
