On 2–3 December 2025, Tampere Hall hosted the ENDR Conference Tampere 2025, “Rapid Civilian Innovation Development and Dual-Use in European Defence”. The conference was organized by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Defence Industry and Space (DG DEFIS) together with the Tampere Region Safety and Security Cluster, a member of the European Network of Defence-related Regions (ENDR).
The two-day forum brought together industry leaders, researchers, policymakers, innovators and military end users to discuss how civilian innovation can strengthen European defence capabilities. Panels covered the geopolitical context, lessons from Ukraine, cybersecurity and resilience, military needs, and collaboration between academia and industry.
On the second day, our CCO Pekka Laiho presented Havuja in the SME pitch session. Our message was simple: Europe’s defence sector needs faster innovation cycles, and civilian technology now moves much faster in speed, iteration and cost. Havuja brings consumer-electronics-grade engineering pace to high-precision sensing, calibration and test systems, and supports partners from rapid prototyping to production-ready systems.
The program also featured presentations from the Finnish Defence Forces, NATO, Patria, Insta Defence & Aviation, Saab and Tampere University, all underlining the urgency for Europe to accelerate its development. Pitches from companies across defence applications and technologies showed how much innovation momentum is building in Europe.
Thank you to the organizers for a well-run event, and to everyone who came to talk with us afterwards.
