Havuja has been selected as a case company for the Aalto Executive MBA at Aalto University Executive Education and Professional Development (Aalto EE). We join a strong group of promising Finnish startups, including SMART+IONS, ARious, Cutosense, cyon.media, Ennen, Levie, SelectAM and Positive Learning.
For more than a decade, venture capitalists Dr. Fabian Sepulveda and Will Cardwell have led the Venture Creation module of the Aalto Executive MBA, in which selected startups work directly with MBA teams. The participants are typically mid- to senior-level leaders from major organizations. Their task is to step into the role of a venture capital investment team and evaluate the company the way an investor would.
That means a full commercial due diligence: opportunity assessment, market sizing, product and technology, business model, go-to-market, sales and marketing, financial projections and fundraising readiness. At the end of the course, each team presents its findings and recommendations to the company.
For Havuja, the timing is ideal. We are a young company building in markets with long sales cycles and demanding technical buyers: photonics, advanced manufacturing and defense. Having experienced business leaders test our assumptions, from market size to go-to-market choices, gives us an independent, investor-style view of how we position, scale and execute. It is the kind of outside perspective that is hard to get otherwise at this stage, and it comes from people who know how large organizations evaluate and buy technology.
A big thank you to Aalto University Executive Education and Professional Development for a program that bridges academic rigor with real-world startup and investment thinking, and to Dr. Fabian Sepulveda and Will Cardwell for making it possible.
